International Social Work- Thinking carefully about thinking bigger
The world is certainly getting smaller. After almost two months of blogging my world is certainly getting smaller. Looking at the stats I have people all of the world following (or at least checking in) my blog. What is social work’s role as we continue to make the world smaller? The work of Midgely (2001) carefully examines some the issues social workers face as we get involved more globally. This is a follow up from a Twitter Chat I engaged in Thursday evening hosted by @UBSSW.
My main pursuit for this blog is to promote “what works” from different perspectives. This may be a good idea but Midgely (2001), reviews some potential issues when venturing internationally to engage in social work.
