Tools for Practice Tuesday- Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports

If you work in a school system you are probably are already aware of Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports or PBIS. Last week I participated in a Twitter Chat about PBIS and mental health. I thought I knew something about PBIS but apparently had a lot learn. If you work with youth, are a parent, or an educational advocate this is important to know about. This is a solution-focused approach that is also in line with social work values of respect and community.
Thanks again thanks again to @KelceySchmitz and the folks at #PBISchat for pointing me the direction of resources to provide an introduction.
1) A Youtube presentation found here that gives a great summary of the basics of PBIS.
2) article that elaborates on the the basics and some of the research that backs it up.
