The environment that one lives in certainly effects your mental health. More subjectively the level of support one feels will also impact mental health. In this cross-cultural study, researchers looked at the intersection between adolescents, poverty, perceived level of support, post traumatic stress, depression, and suicide.

I found the cultural differences and similarities fascinating. The unifying theme for wellness and mental health was feeling support by family and neighborhood. The highlights the need that children are not raised in a bubble. Treatment need to address the family and mezzo concerns as well. Enjoy..
