Tools for Practice Tuesday: Wellpepper

I continue to be in search of unique care management software. It is interesting to try different Health IT solutions and see how they can benefit both patients and providers. This is often a common thread in a lot of these platforms but I enjoyed trying Wellpepper’s approach to developing shared solutions using technology.

Wellpepper helps build customized digital treatment plans. They have templates prepared for a variety of diagnoses including diabetes, cardiac care, and many others. They also will be working with The Mayo Clinic to install their care plans. The patient view is can be further customized. You can also build your own models from scratch. In addition to those tools, there can be the inclusion of video…

They used this in the context physical therapy but I found use of personalized video promising. From the mental health perspective, it would be interesting to include personalized video for coping skills. Frequently I educate the youth I work with about practicing coping strategies while you are calm. This might be an interesting use case to see clients practice their own personal coping skills. Also another unique feature is that Wellpepper can also interact with voice technology like Alexa. This can also be helpful in terms of mental health care.

As with most care management platforms, data can also be displayed for use of providers. They can look at individual feedback but also examine data of the entire patient population. This gives providers the option to check the effectiveness of a variety of interventions available on the platform and perhaps make adjustments.

So if you are need of treatment plans that can integrate with with variety of digital tools you can check out Wellpepper on their website. You also follow them on twitter
