Tools For Practice Tuesday: Ask Ana

Two weeks ago I reflected about the population health tools I learned about at #HIMSS18. The focus was how platforms aggregate clinical data to make more informed clinical decisions. This week I am sharing how I learned about “Ask Ana” via VisiQuate. This is a tool to aggregate your financial data to assist in making fiscal decisions for your healthcare organization…

They do this using a unique approach, an interactive chatbot. First you enter your fiscal data into their system. They can use whatever data you have and based on their expertise in healthcare and other industries, they can gleam insights from this data. This data can play various roles for your organization and automate fiscal processes allowing time for other tasks. From the program management view, it’s ability to automatically generate reports is a powerful function. Who doesn’t need help with their quarterly reporting?

I found your ability to just “Ask Ana” questions is it’s most interesting feature. In the demonstration, the conversational nature seemed make room to have questions answered that you may not have been thinking about when you started. Here is a quick snapshot…

I am certainly not accusing your current chief financial officer of being inadequate. On the clinical side, tools like AI and Machine learning are being used to potentially catch something you might miss. AI and radiologists are working together to increase the accuracy of diagnosis; why can’t AI help with financial management as well? If you are looking at ways to perhaps better manage your revenue cycle, I would consider taking a look at “Ask Ana”.
